Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor – Artisan – Brisbane

29 September – 12 November 2011

Celebrating the centenary of International Women’s Day, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor will feature 100 brooches made by 100 of Australia’s most talented women jewellers in response to stories of great Australian women who have broken barriers in arts, sciences, humanities and sports.

Inspired by the trail blazing career of Air Vice Marshall Julie Hammer, Phoebe’s contribution to the show references military medals as potent symbols of service. The design alludes to the systems, technology and pathways critical to AVM Hammer’s pioneering career: electronic, aerospace, command, navigation and communication.
