Cyndi knew she wanted to use a rectangular yellow sapphire in a dark metal and this was the starting point of our conversation. I sourced a number of sapphires for Cyndi to view in person before selecting the final stone. We decided to use yellow gold for the inside sleeve to enrich the colour of the sapphire and contrast with the deep grey/purple tantalum outer sleeve. The yellow gold rivets hold the stone under tension and also provide a pleasing detail.
